Thayer Learning Center's Internet Marketing

Thayer Learning Center and/or TLC Boot Camp is currently promoted on numerous websites.

According to the WHOIS database, each of them is owned by John Bundy.

The sites carry disclaimers saying Parent Help is not responsible for the accuracy of the information.

Conveniently, none of the sites mention the FACT that the owners of the Parent Help program referral company and the owners of Thayer Learning Center are one and the same.

www.thayerlearningcenter.com

This site states: Thayer Learning Center was designed to see every student succeed. Typical military schools do not accept students who are not more than willing to be there. At a parent’s request, Thayer Learning Center will take any student that the program is capable of helping. Students can not be expelled for breaking rules or other poor behaviors, like the majority of boarding schools. Thayer Learning Center is different.

www.teenprogram.info

This site gives the appearance of being an independent, referral web site when it fact, it is also owned by John Bundy.

Thayer Learning Center is always the "featured school" on the home page.

About Thayer, it states: Our curriculum offers stability through reality-based education, a structured daily schedule, an academic program tailored to your Student's educational success as well as emotional growth seminars designed to build self-esteem and a healthy outlook on life.

www.teen-bootcamp.com

This site gives the appearance of being an independent, referral organization that also offers transport services. It only mentions one program by name - Thayer Learning Center. It states: We have transported literally thousands of teens in trouble during the past 15 years, not only from all over the United States but to schools/programs all over the world as well. Our company has a long standing reputation for being cost effective, honest, thorough, safe and professional as well as being able to provide our full service on your time schedule no matter where you live. (Please go to our referral page for comments from parents who have been pleased with our service.) More Questions Call us 1-800-688-8706.

www.tlcprogram.com

This site states: Teens who are doing poorly in school do not appreciate the value of an education. At Thayer Learning Center, we teach our students that an education is a privilege. During the first phase of the program, cadets are not permitted to work on their schooling. School is earned during the second phase of the program where time is alloted for them to study at an individual pace with trained tutors and professional teachers. The students at Thayer Learning Center are able to focus on their course work without distraction, while getting the individual attention they need which is not present in public schools.

This statement is in direct violation of the United States Constitution. It states that education is a right.

www.tlcbootcamp.com

This site states: If your teen is doing drugs, defiant, disrespectful, disobedient, abusive, or needs a wake up call, TLC boot camp has an opening just for him. It's time to stop making all your decisions based on the behavior of your teen. Our efficient drill sergeants are waiting to help put you, the parent, back in command.

www.troubledteen.com

This is another Parent Help referral site. Thayer Learning Center and TLC Boot Camp are listed. The site does not state that Parent Help, Thayer, and TLC Boot Camp are owned by the same person. This site states: Parent Help’s directory of schools and programs includes military schools, boarding schools, wilderness programs, and boot camps. Browse through our listings by using the menus to the right. Please call Parent Help at 1-800-917-3959 for more help finding a program that will work for your troubled teen.

www.wesaveteens.com

This is another Parent Help referral site. It states: Educational consultants charge an initial fee for services; however, because of the support received from the schools and programs with which we work, we offer our consultation service free of charge.

It does NOT state that Parent Help and Thayer Learning Center are both owned by John Bundy.

This site also makes this claim in regards to education: There is a High School diploma program offered with accredited courses. Students have the ability to move at their own pace and learning ability. Competent staff and tutors are provided at every stage of their education.

The education offered at Thayer Learning Center is simply a correspondence course.

www.defiantteenager.com

Yet another Parent Help referral site that does not reveal the connection between the website and the Bundys.

It states: Our team works in conjunction with several private schools, boot camps, and other programs for troubled teens to provide a free resource to parents in finding a school program that can best suit the needs of their teen.

This website, DefiantTeenager.com, is operated by Parent Help, LLC. Parent Help declares the family to be the most important unit in society. Our website and call center is designed to realistically evaluate families in crisis, support families in transporting youth to specialty schools and assist parents in locating the best possible solution for their unique situation.

The team at Parent Help has done the research on troubled teen schools and programs for you.

www.parenthelpcenter.org

Another Parent Help referral site. This one has Thayer Learning Center listed as a military school, a boarding school, and a Christian school. Again, there is nothing that informs parents of the connection between Parent Help and Thayer Learning Center.

This site states:Thayer Learning Center is a one of a kind boot camp and Christian boarding school that accepts defiant, disrespectful, and rebellious teens ages 13 to 17 years old.

http://kiddermissouri.com

This site describes the history of the building now housing Thayer Learning Center.

About Thayer Learning Center it states: In 1995, after sitting vacant for many years, David McEwen from Salt Lake City, Utah purchased the building and campus. Restoration work began on some of the buildings to bring back some of the original splendor and purpose. On September 15, 2002 Mr. McEwen sold the building and 20 acres to John and Willa Bundy and history will repeat itself. The Bundy's are going to open the school again as the "Thayer Learning Center." They selected the name because of the history and the acronym TLC which means "Tender Loving Care." The new school will house youth from ages 13-17 from all over the country. The private school will be a non-denominational Christian based school that will create over 50 jobs initially. The emphasis of the training will be "Love of Country and of God." The youth will be trained in personal responsibility and how to be a "whole person in the world." The present building will be used initially as a dormitory and school and eventually plans are to construct a new dormitory facility adjacent to the school.

www.militaryschoolsforteens.com

This site attempts to convey a connection to legitimate military schools, when in fact it is yet another Parent Help referral site.

Thayer Learning Center is the only facility mentioned by name. It states: Thayer Learning Center is a one-of-a-kind military boarding school where troubled teenagers come to work through the problems they have created in their lives and in their families. With constant encouragement from dedicated staff, cadets at Thayer Learning Center learn self-respect and discipline.

www.girlsbootcamp.com

This is another Parent Help referral site. It only advertises Thayer Learning Center and says nothing about the connection between the site, Parent Help, the Bundys, and Thayer Learning Center.

www.parenthelp.co.uk/index

This Parent Help referral site markets to parents in Europe. TLC Boot Camp is the "featured school" on the site's military school page. It states: Parent Help works with privately owned military based schools that can give your teen the military style structure, behavior modification, physical fitness, leadership, and overall help that he or she needs to become successful in life. Most these schools will not offer organized athletics however most have good academic programs which offer high school and college courses.

This site also mentions the "Grise'l Method" of child training. Grisel is Willa Bundy's maiden name.
